ALGUNDER WAALWEG PATH
A two-hour leisurely walk from Algund towards Merano. Through apple orchards, over a suspension bridge, past farms, palm trees, cypresses and olive trees. Your companion on the six-kilometre-long path: the soothing lapping of the water and the fabulous view over the Adige Valley. You can start directly at the house, only a quarter of an hour downhill and you are already directly on the Waalweg.
SOUTH TYROLEAN CUISINE
Lots of regional ingredients and a pinch of "dolcevita" make South Tyrolean cuisine irresistible. And you don't have to go far to enjoy it.
In Algund and the surrounding area you will find renowned restaurants with international cuisine as well as traditional inns and cosy mountain huts. We will be happy to provide you with information about the best places to eat.
THE GARDEN VILLAGE ALGUND
The mild temperatures in Algund lure you outside all year round. In what is probably the largest garden in South Tyrol, you can discover and experience many things: Mini golf, beach volleyball, horse riding, tennis, castles, fortresses ... And probably the smallest museum far and wide, which houses the foundations of a medieval bridgehead. For maximum deceleration, the weekly forest bathing in Algund - a consciously experienced stay in the forest.
MOUNTAIN BIKE & E-BIKE
Get on your bike and forget everything around you. In Algund you can go on beautiful tours with the e-bike and mountain bike. Not far from the house, a winding single trail starts downhill through the shady mixed forest, which will make all downhillers' hearts beat faster. We will be happy to tell you personally where the bike rentals are and where the most beautiful bike tours are.
HIKES FROM EBENEICH
Hiking in the valley and high up, where the mountains touch the sky. In Algund, hikes between 300 and 3,000 metres await you: the Vellau Rock Trail, the breathtaking Merano High Trail, the Spronser Lakes, the Mutpeak ... You can start directly from the house, via hiking trail no. 25, or you can comfortably float up to the Leiter Alm with the nostalgic basket lift.
NEIGHBOURING TOWN OF MERAN
The best thing about a holiday in Vellau? You have a lot of privacy up here in absolute tranquillity and yet you are in the middle of the green city of Merano in just a quarter of an hour.
For an aperitivo between palm trees and magnificent houses, for an Italian coffee under ancient arches or a shopping spree in shops, boutiques and at cosy farmers' markets. We'll be happy to give you insider tips.
